Description
Ebb & Flow, the last movement of Sea Songs, was the first composition put forth as I embarked on this project. My intent was to take advantage of every aspect of instrumentation and combination with in the choir, including smaller vocal groupings, plus vocal and instrumental soloists. This unauthored poem, to my mind, is the most traditional of the four, evoking an old sea shanty, and with that, suggesting some romantic and classical music leanings. From beginning to end, it praises and celebrates the sea.
